Some information about Ricky Hutchinson:
Ricky was born and raised in Littledale. Sheepdogs have always been a part of his life with his father, uncle and extended family being strong followers of the sport of trialling and the artform of training. He can first remember running a dog at the age of 7 when at 4ft1 he was nearly fully grown. His first experiences of trialling in his teens were terrible. After leaving school, daily shepherding coincided with the arrival of his first good dog Peg (Hanna). Soon his abilities and achievements started an upward curve. Since Peg, he has been joined by Wenndale Roy, Sweep, Jock and Jonah to name a few. These dogs stand for the beliefs at Littledale Sheepdogs. Ricky's biggest achievements include 2017 Supreme Champion, 3 English National Championships, 2 Reserve Supremes, 4 Brace International Championships and 9 English Brace Championships.

What is offered:

Theorie und practice for begginer and advanced dogs and handlers sheep for every level of training.

Available sheep breeds:  Dorper, Skudden, Moorschnucken and Coburger Fuchsschafe.

Each dog-handler team will work twice a day (am + pm) 

Available working areas / fields:

Roundpen (diameter approx. 16m), inside arena 20x40m, small pen in the inside arena  around 10 x 11 m, outside small sorting pen around 2,5 x 4 m, small sanded pen around 11x11m, complete sorting pen setup.

Different sizes of fully fenced training pastures: 20x40m, 35x50m, 130x75m + some others in different smaller sizes where we can recreate different everyday situations, all connected to each other.

For advanced dogs we might be able to use some bigger, not fenced fields outside the ranch. But, since these fields are long, but not very wide, they are more suitable for driving and less for outrun training.

(Field 1 approx. 1ha - square  // Field 2 approx. 2 ha - around 200-250 m long but narrow (maybe 80 m wide) // Field 3 approx. 4 ha - 300-350 m long and but only about 100m wide).

Just in case you don´t speak english or not well enough, I´ll be there all the time to translate!!!

Foods and Drinks:

Hot (coffe, tea) and cold (non alcoholic) drinks as well as a small, warm lunch is included in the price for each participant. If you´re a vegetarian, please let us know ahead and put a note in your registration form!

In unserer Reithalle gibt es Toiletten und ein beheiztes Reiterstübchen. In den Innenbereichen sind keine Hunde erlaubt!

Am Samstag Abend können wir gerne gemeinsam Abendessen gehen. Einen Tisch in einem Restaurant würde ich vorab reservieren.

Bitte gerne bei der Anmeldung mit angeben, wer mit Abendessen gehen möchte.

Dogs:

To participate, all dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations and dewormings, must be healthy and must have a valid liability insurance.

If you have a female in heat, please let us know ahead of the clinic. 

On the ranch / clinic property all dogs must be on leash all the time!!

Parking and walking the dogs:

The parking lot is at the end of the ranch, there is a little tiny bridge, where you´ll also find a dispenser for doggy bags + a trash can to dispose them.

The small road leading away from the ranch is ideal for dog walks. The other roads are often too busy with traffic.

Please do not let your dogs run the fields, since this is food for our stock!!  Please keep them on the road or on the small median strip left and right of it. We really appreciate it!!

Please always pick up dog poop immediately and dispose it in the trash bin near the parking lot.

To avoid unnecessary disturbance to our dogs and horses at the ranch, only participating dogs are allowed on the ranch grounds and only on their way to training or back to the parking lot. We appreciate your understanding!!

ATTENTION PLEASE: on the way from the parking lot through the ranch, you´ll pass our horses.

Please do NOT feed the horses and please pay ATTENTION!!!  There´s a lot of ELECTRICITY on the horse fence!! Keep your dogs on the leash all the time!!

Camper:

There is a chance to camp at the parking lot. Please let us know ahead on the registration form! We have room for a few camper, but only electricity for about 2-3. If you don´t need electricity, camping is free. If you need electricity, we´re asking for 5,- Euros a day.

The parking lot is in a water protection zone, so please do not drain or leave any liquids or other waste!!

In Walldürn there is a dsiposal point for mobile and built-in toilets. I will give you the adress, if needed.

Arrival is possible from friday late afternoon.

Other:

​Since we will train outside most of the time, please bring clothing according to the weather.

Our area is called Baden Sibiria, so it´s better to pack some extra  and warm clothing.
